T & J Auction Finds

Spread the love

This page is dedicated to sharing with you the stories and adventures that my oldest son Jack and I share. When Jack graduated from college back in 2014, he and I decided to go to a couple of storage auctions. We had been hooked on watching “Storage Wars” on TV for the past couple of years and found it to be intriguing. While Jack and I don’t share a lot of the same interests like Tommy and I do, we both found it to be like treasure hunting. This was something we both enjoyed but found it in different ways. After our first couple of auctions we were hooked and have made a business out of it. We are constantly looking for ways to scale it and work it more efficiently. We are definitely a work in progress and learning so much together. Some of the things we are learning are things like the value and history of items especially those that are collectibles and trendy. We also are learning about many different venues to sell our inventory. We currently have an Ebay store and 2 Poshmark closets. We also sell on Facebook marketplace, Let Go, Offer Up and sometimes Craigslist.

Jack is diagnosed with Asperger’s Syndrome so sometimes our communication is a little challenging and tends to frustrate us both. So I will be sharing with you some of those challenges along the way and how we learn and improve from each other. I always say he is so slow about everything and he says I am too impatient! We work very hard at being honest about our feelings and frustrations, keeping the communication lines open and communicating respectfully. This has allowed us to work as a team for almost 5 years now. It has been no small victory to say the least!
